ENGN Episode 34 – Leaving Earth, Helionox, and Dungeon Time

This week Anthony Shares three games he’s been playing lately that are sometimes hard to find with Leaving Earth, Helionox (and the upcoming Deluxe edition), and Dungeon Time. Jason has some tips and thoughts on how to make sure you have a chance of finding those hard to find games, and the guys talk about some of the games these ones resemble if you’re not able to track down a copy.

First up, Anthony dives into Dungeon Time, probably the easiest to find of the bunch, but an undiscovered gem for solo gamers that really scratches that quick, real time co-op itch (for those of us who have it). Find out if you should consider this one and where you can find it if you are interested.

Next up, we look at Helionox: The Last Sunset and its expansion, Mercury Protocol. Similar in several ways to Star Realms, how does this game stack up both as a deck builder and a strictly solo experience. With an upcoming Kickstarter on the horizon, we’ll look into how the game has evolved and whether it’s worth keeping an eye on.

Finally, the one I’ve been most excited about recently is Leaving Earth. Sold only from the publisher website and not always in print, Leaving Earth is a fantastic math and science puzzle of a game that will twist your brain into a pretzel every time you play. Find out if it’s right for you and whether the expansion is a must snag as well.
