Episode 42 – Dead of Winter

There is little question that Dead of Winter is currently taking the hobby by storm. Everywhere you look are gamers desperately searching for a copy of this game and it’s nowhere to be seen. Find out if the hype is well-earned this week as Anthony, Chris, Daniel, and Drew discuss the game and Chris and Drew share their recent experiences with a larger group. In addition, we’ll be talking about a few recent plays including one that Anthony has been excited to get to the table with his son.

At the Table

Three games hit the table this week and they couldn’t be more different from each other. First up, Anthony discusses Animal Upon Animal, a game he recently picked up to play with his son and discovered he liked even MORE. Next up Drew talks about Legacy – Testament of Duke de Cressi, a game that somehow makes lineage and ancestry a whole lot of fun, and Chris brings Pirateer to the table with a recent playthrough.

Feature Review: Dead of Winter

Plaid Hat Games has been on something of a roll lately and no game is greater evidence of that than Dead of Winter. Chris and Drew were lucky enough to find a copy to play recently and they bring their experience to the table to discuss if this zombie game that isn’t a zombie game is worth the accolades it has been receiving. Hint, it is. Very much so.

Final Round – United Nations Day

This week we’ll be marking the creation of the United Nations and the guys discuss some of their favorite games about nations coming together (or trying to) for the greater good. We had one heck of a time trying to find games that actually involved getting along and not breaking down into some form of armed combat – listen to find out if we succeeded or not.
