Episode 18 – Holiday Wish Lists

Time is running out! Only a few more days until Christmas, and the team is more excited than ever before – we have our wish lists out and we’re eagerly anticipating the day when we can share gifts with each other once and for all. Until then, the embargo stretches on so join Anthony, Chris, Dan and Kim to discuss some of our recent play throughs and to learn more about what games we hope we’ll see under the tree this year.

At the Table

There are a lot of games being played these days as the holidays stretch on. To start, we got the newest Seiji Kanai game to the table with Cheaty Mages. This unique bid and combat system works extremely well as a quick, non-trick taking game that supports a good sized table of players. The game has been flying off the shelves at our local store – learn if it’s well deserved.

Next up, Kim gets the City expansion for Talisman to the table and Chris and Anthony get their first hands-on experience with the roll and move classic. Next up we play a Christmas themed gift giving game called 12 Days that pulls off the holiday theme nicely. Finally, Dan is excited for the newest Heroclix set with Avengers vs. X-Men. The set features a number of amazing figures, the same old questionable WizKids production values, and a fun new storyline to follow in the competitive play. How does it stack up to other recent releases?

Holiday Wish Lists

Finally, join the BGA team as we discuss the games we want to see under our trees this year and learn what types of games and gaming experiences we’re hoping to enjoy over the holiday break. Next episode will be our big gift giving spectacular. Which games are we hoping to see when that happens?
