Episode 33 – Marvel Dice Masters Avengers vs. X-men

As the summer wears on, the BGA crew is completely scattered on vacations, but no worries, we have technology! Drew and Daniel dial in remotely and the four of us get together to discuss a boat load of awesome games, including our feature for this week: the near mythical Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. X-Men. We’ll also take a look at Airlines Europe, Bruxelles 1893, and Zombies!!! (yes, THREE exclamation points).

Acquisition Disorder Corner

So there’s a convention going on – if you haven’t heard. A little thing called Gencon is loading up our lists with dozens of new games we’d like to get to the table in the next few months, including some Star Wars awesomeness and oh so much more. The guys discuss some of these games, when they hope they’ll come out, and the list they’re expecting to be announced through the fall.

At the Table

At the table this week are three incredibly diverse games. To start things off, Daniel shares his recent experience with the aptly named Zombies!!! Does it deserve the second and third exclamation point? Or is this yet another questionable undead entry? Anthony and Chris then discuss their opportunity to play Airlines Europe – a game that has been hard to find for months – and Drew joins them to discuss their recent play through of artistic and architectural themed euro, Bruxelles 1893 – a game that has a number of issues to discuss.

Feature: Marvel Dice Masters: Avengers vs. X-Men

While we may be one of the last podcasts to formally review this game, we are among the first people to actually find a copy. The holy grail of 2015 gaming, the first starter kit for Marvel Dice Masters has been nearly impossible to find a copy of, and Anthony managed to stumble upon one at his FLGS during a gaming event. So it is now in our possession and we’ve played through a few times along with a number of additional booster-bought cards. Listen and learn if all the waiting (and hunting) were worth it.
